In 2026, Swiss watchmaking brand LOEMEY reached an important milestone in its development: the transfer of ownership of the LOEMEY trademark was officially completed.

This achievement marks a significant step forward in the brand’s relaunch and establishes a new foundation for its future brand management, product planning and market expansion.

Founded in 1917 in Le Sentier, in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux, Canton of Vaud, LOEMEY was established by watchmaker Loévin Meyer. In its early years, the workshop specialised in pocket watchmaking, watch repairs and bespoke timepieces.

Over more than a century, the brand’s heritage has been carried forward through five generations of the Meyer family, leaving behind a distinctive history, design archives and watchmaking legacy.

In the 1980s, amid the transformation of the Swiss watch industry and changing market conditions, the brand’s traditional watchmaking workshop eventually closed. Nevertheless, the family continued to preserve selected watch repair and bespoke services, together with vintage timepieces, tools, photographs and historical documents.

In 2022, Adrien Meyer, the fifth-generation successor, officially initiated the relaunch of the LOEMEY brand.

However, unresolved trademark ownership issues presented practical challenges to the relaunch. During this initial phase, the brand focused on organising its historical archives, developing its brand strategy and establishing potential business partnerships, while continuing efforts to resolve the trademark ownership matter.

In September 2025, during the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, Adrien Meyer established contact with Ailuo Hong Kong, leading to a subsequent partnership between the two parties. In November, the LOEMEY Global Brand Management Centre was established in Hong Kong, further advancing the brand’s international partnership and business development initiatives.

As 2026 began, LOEMEY entered a new phase of development.

In March, the new premises of the LOEMEY watchmaking workshop in Switzerland were completed. In June, ownership of the LOEMEY trademark was officially transferred. These developments represented important progress in the brand’s heritage preservation, trademark rights and long-term development.

With the trademark ownership matter resolved, LOEMEY will continue to strengthen its brand management structure, product presentation and market partnership channels, while advancing its business development in international markets and China.

In terms of products, LOEMEY will continue to explore classic mechanical watches, original designs and collections inspired by different functions and themes, gradually expanding its product range and brand presentation.

For market development, the brand will explore a wider range of business opportunities through strategic partners, distributors and authorised retail networks.

The renewal of a century-old brand requires not only a rich heritage, but also clear strategic planning and sustained long-term investment.

For LOEMEY, 2026 is not only a significant year in which trademark ownership returned to the brand, but also an important starting point as it moves from relaunch preparations into a new stage of development.
